<\/a><\/p>\nvon Trapp Trosten Lager<\/strong><\/p>\n Blogger:<\/strong> Sean Jansen Beer<\/strong>: Trosten Lager Commercial Description:<\/strong> German for “comfort”, our Trosten is a smoked lager full of gemutlichkeit.<\/p>\n Beer Details:<\/strong> Why I selected the von Trapp Trosten Lager:<\/strong><\/p>\n The 31 Beers of December is one of my favorite times of the year.\u00a0 But it can also be CRAZY! \u00a0On one hand,\u00a0it’s nerve racking and somewhat tense to make sure that a new beer is posted every day. \u00a0On the other hand, I am\u00a0thankful to have an opportunity to collaborate with others around the country (sounds pretty corny, but true). \u00a0It is the beer friendships that inspire the 2Beerguy family and drive us to\u00a0contribute to\u00a0the community.<\/p>\n Making a selection this year wasn’t easy. \u00a0I really wasn’t sure which beer to share, as there are so many great beers\u00a0to select. \u00a0As I started to research, I realized that I had the perfect\u00a0selection staring at me already. \u00a0It was the von Trapp Trosten lager. \u00a0Troten, which means\u00a0comfort \/\u00a0console in German, is perfect for the holiday season. \u00a0A warm embrace always makes you feel better. \u00a0It’s time to reflect and reach out to the ones you love and give them a hug.<\/p>\n Now, on to the beer!<\/p>\n Trosten pours a dark brown, murky body with a small off light brown\u00a0head. \u00a0The head quickly diminishes, leaving white lacing on the glass. \u00a0Sweet malt aroma, paired with soft smokey notes caught my attention. \u00a0Not overly smokey, like a campfire, but rather subtle and inviting.<\/p>\n The smokey notes are dominant in the initial taste, increasing into a strong smokey finish. \u00a0Behind the smoke, rich chocolate notes emerge. \u00a0As expected, the hop bitterness is rather light, creating a balance taste with the malts.<\/p>\n I recommend picking up\u00a0Trosten\u00a0for\u00a0this winter\u00a0season. \u00a0Don’t be to worried about the smokey notes, as the rich chocolate flavors increase as you sip on. \u00a0 For optimal experience, find a fireplace and a special some one to share Trosten with.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n What would you pair this beer with?<\/strong><\/p>\n Um……\u00a0Ignace Beef Stew<\/a>, could there be any other options?
