{"id":2699,"date":"2010-05-27T10:38:57","date_gmt":"2010-05-27T14:38:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.2beerguys.com\/blog\/?p=2699"},"modified":"2010-05-22T10:46:32","modified_gmt":"2010-05-22T14:46:32","slug":"2010-philly-beer-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/2beerguys.com\/blog\/2010\/05\/27\/2010-philly-beer-week\/","title":{"rendered":"2010 Philly Beer Week (June 4 &#8211; 13)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Philly Beer Week &#8211; June 4 to 13 &#8211; announces over 865 events including nine festivals!\u200f<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.2beerguys.com\/images\/forblog\/phillybeerweek2010.jpg\" alt=\"Philly Beer Week 2010\" align=\"right\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>PHILLY BEER  WEEK 2010 ANNOUNCES\u00a0 LINE UP OF  NINE BEER FESTIVALS INCLUDING  \u201cFORUM OF THE GODS\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>PHILADELPHIA, PA<\/strong> \u2013 The third-annual <strong>Philly  Beer Week (PBW)<\/strong> which celebrates the region\u2019s vibrant beer culture has just  announced this year\u2019s list of beer festivals \u2013 nine in all \u2013 from June 4 to June 13.\u00a0 New this year is <strong>The Forum of the Gods<\/strong>, a spirited afternoon of beer talk, beer drinking and big names in brewing, with all proceeds  going to benefit PBW.\u00a0 Over 180 bars, restaurants and breweries will host over 865 events during Philly Beer Week 2010.<\/p>\n<p>The Forum will be held on <strong>Thursday, June  10 <\/strong>from <strong>2 p.m. until 5 p.m.<\/strong> at <strong>Johnny Brenda\u2019s<\/strong> (Frankford and Girard Avenues).\u00a0 Tickets are available now online at <a onclick=\"javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('\/outgoing\/www.phillybeerweek.org\/');\"  href=\"http:\/\/www.phillybeerweek.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">www.phillybeerweek.org<\/a> and are <strong>$25 per person<\/strong>, which includes beer from each of the four participating speakers.\u00a0 The panel will include:\u00a0 <strong>Jim Koch<\/strong> of Boston Beer and Samuel Adams;\u00a0 <strong>Phil Markowski<\/strong> of Southampton Publick House;\u00a0 <strong>Tom Kehoe<\/strong> of Yards Brewing and <strong>Wendy Yeungling<\/strong> of D.G. representatives from 31 area breweries will showcase  their best offerings and beers made for Philly Beer Week.\u00a0 $40 per person;  7:30 p.m.; Independence Visitor Center, 6<sup>th<\/sup> and Market Streets.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday, June  5<\/strong>:\u00a0 <em>Philadelphia Global  Beer Expo<\/em>:\u00a0 Featuring a host of great beers from around the world, the global beer expo brings the best of non-local beers to Philadelphia.\u00a0 $45 per person; 12 noon to 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.; Simeone Automotive Museum, 6825 Norwitch Drive.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday, June  5<\/strong>:\u00a0 <em>International Great  Beer Expo<\/em>:\u00a0 An international beer tasting event that highlights some 50+ brewers and 100+ beers from such diverse countries as Belgium,  Japan and the United States.\u00a0 $45 per person in advance; $60 per person at the door; 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.; Philadelphia Cruise  Terminal at the Navy Yard; 5100 South Broad Street.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday, June  5<\/strong>:\u00a0 <em>German Bierfest<\/em>:\u00a0 A family-friendly day of outdoor beer tasting with a host of German and German-style beers.\u00a0 $30 per person; 12 noon; German  Society of Pennsylvania; 611 Spring Garden Street.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sunday, June  6<\/strong>:\u00a0 <em>Smoke \u2018Em if Yous Got \u2018Em<\/em>:\u00a0 An indoor\/outdoor beer-and-BBQ extravaganza hosted by Yards Brewing Company, with 30+ smoked beers, food from 15  amateur BBQ chefs and additional catered goodies from Tommy Gunn\u2019s and Percy  Street Barbecue.\u00a0 The Jazz Horses and the Kevin Hanson Trio will provide  musical entertainment.\u00a0 $50 per person; 1 p.m.; Yards Brewing Company; 901 North Delaware Avenue.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Thursday, June  10<\/strong>:\u00a0 <em>Forum of the Gods<\/em>:\u00a0 An informal panel discussion featuring some of the biggest names in beer culture.\u00a0 $25 per person; 3 p.m.; Johnny Brenda\u2019s Upstairs; Frankford and Girard Avenues.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Friday, June  11<\/strong>:\u00a0 <em>East vs. West Exotic Beer Tasting<\/em>:\u00a0 A sampling event that pits East Coast and West Coast breweries against each other, with limited vintage aged  brews and brewers\u2019 favorites featured.\u00a0 Live music and hors d\u2019oeuvres will  round out this once-in-a-lifetime event.\u00a0 $60 per person; 7 p.m.; Stoudt\u2019s Brewery; 2800 North Reading Road, Adamstown, PA.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday, June  12<\/strong>:\u00a0 <em>20<sup>th<\/sup> Annual Michael Jackson Tutored Tasting<\/em>:\u00a0 This year\u2019s \u201cBeer as Art\u201d-themed tastings will be led by renowned expert Randy Mosher and  will include a one hour tutored tasting followed by open sessions with 50+ beers.\u00a0 $50 per person; 12 noon \u2013 3 p.m., 4 p.m. \u2013 7 p.m., 8 p.m. \u2013 11  p.m.; HeadHouse restaurant; 122 Lombard Street.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sunday, June  13<\/strong>:\u00a0 <em>2<sup>nd<\/sup> Annual Zythos America<\/em>:\u00a0 Belgium\u2019s greatest beer event comes to Philadelphia for the second year, with more than a dozen of that  country\u2019s top brewers scheduled to appear.\u00a0 $65 per person;
