A welcoming cocktail hour, complete with Cold River cocktail selections paired with passed appetizers to complement the spirits, will kick off the evening at 6:30 p.m., to be followed by a seated, four-course dinner at 7:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Jeff Buerhaus, Walter\u2019s owner and executive chef, is designing the evening\u2019s menu to feature Cold River Vodka in select dishes, while Walter\u2019s Bar Manager Steve Lovenguth will present attendees with a specially created array of Cold River cocktails.  One guest, drawn at random during the evening, will win a gift basket full of items from Maine Distilleries and Walter\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p>Highlights of Chef Buerhaus\u2019s menu for the evening will include a pastrami-cured duck breast appetizer, a roasted spring lamb chop, a vodka-based pasta dish with crumbled Greek farm cheese, and blueberry vodka cheesecake for dessert.  Standouts among the cocktails Lovenguth plans to serve include the \u201cNor\u2019easter,\u201d featuring Cold River\u2019s Blueberry Vodka and HoneyMaker Blueberry Mead, and the \u201cFar East River,\u201d which includes Lemongrass-infused Cold River vodka and ginger liqueur.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>We\u2019ve really enjoyed putting this menu together and look forward to sharing it with guests at our June 3 cocktail dinner<\/em>,\u201d Buerhaus said.  \u201c<em>It\u2019s been a lot of fun to experiment with all the different ways to serve and cook with this unique Maine spirit.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a nod to the evening\u2019s culinary focus, Walter\u2019s and Cold River Vodka will make a joint donation to the Maine Restaurant Association Education Foundation, which provides scholarships to deserving students pursuing post-secondary degrees in Culinary Arts or Hospitality Management programs.<\/p>\n<p>The cost of the June 3 cocktail hour and dinner is $75 per person (exclusive of tax\/gratuity).
