{"id":2983,"date":"2010-06-26T09:00:38","date_gmt":"2010-06-26T13:00:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.2beerguys.com\/blog\/?p=2983"},"modified":"2010-06-23T22:55:12","modified_gmt":"2010-06-24T02:55:12","slug":"karl_strauss-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/2beerguys.com\/blog\/2010\/06\/26\/karl_strauss-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Karl Strauss Takes Home 7 Medals From LA Fair\u200f"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/2beerguys.com\/images\/forblog\/karl-strauss.jpg\" alt=\"\" align=\"right\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Karl Strauss Takes Home 7  Medals From LA Fair<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>San Diego, CA \u2013 June 23, 2010 \u2013 <\/strong>Karl Strauss Brewing Company recently won seven medals, including three golds, at the  Los Angeles International Commercial Beer Competition.\u00a0 The competition, in existence since 2002, is BJCP certified and widely regarded as one of  California\u2019s premiere beer competitions.\u00a0 The competition included more than 430  entries from 70 participating breweries.<\/p>\n<p>Karl Strauss entered ten  beers into the competition and walked away with an impressive seven medals.\u00a0 \u201cWe felt confident that  the beers we entered were brewed with passion and an attention to quality,  so we had our fingers crossed.\u00a0 When we learned we won seven medals we were thrilled,\u201d says Brewmaster, Paul Segura.\u00a0 \u201cCompetitions like the LA Fair\u2019s have become extremely competitive and to medal with so many great breweries in the running is an honor.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.2beerguys.com\/images\/forblog\/karl_strauss_la_awards.jpg\" alt=\"\" align=\"right\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A majority of the  company\u2019s winning beers, including Red Trolley Ale, Tower 10 IPA, Woodie Gold, and Windansea Wheat  Hefeweizen, are available year-round in bottles and\/or on draft.\u00a0 A selection of the  medal-winning beers will also be available for the public to sample in the \u201cBeer Tavern\u201d during the L.A. Fair.\u00a0 The L.A.
