Are YOU a Guiness Believer?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

2beer Guys Attend GUINNESS Believer Event<\/p>\n

A few weeks ago, we received an invitation to attend a GUINNESS Believer Event. To attend this event, one must register on line. We believed that this was “Our ticket to an informative evening that will include great food and cold GUINNESS beer.”<\/p>\n

When registering for this event, I was only allowed to “bring one guest to join you for this lively occasion.”<\/p>\n

Where and When did this event take place?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

What did we think about the Event?<\/strong>
\n<\/span>
\nThis event was similar to attending a time share seminar. We arrived at the event only to wait outside the Paris function room (within Faneuil hall) in a long line. A Guiness hostess came around with a clip board form for “Guests” to fill in their contact information, how many beers you normally drink in a week, and if Guiness is your favorite.<\/p>\n

We stood in the line for about 10 minutes before they started letting anyone in. About 5 minutes later, we made it to the font of the line. With a quick ID check and 2nd registration, we were in. It felt rather weird and it felt as if no one knew what was going on. We thought….<\/p>\n

What the hell are we doing here?<\/span><\/strong>Why did they pick the smallest room possible, huge tables and nowhere to walk?<\/p>\n

Are we going to get free beer?<\/p>\n

What is up with the slide projector?<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/strong>After entering the room, we headed straight to the bar to get a cold Guiness and some snacks. Being towards the end of the line was a pain, because like they said in their email, “SEATING IS LIMITED and SPACE IS NOT GUARANTEED”. While Ian was dillying around with the Snacks, I found us some seating toward the front of the room.<\/p>\n

While enjoying our cold, fresh draft, the presentation began. The presenter was some novice, untalented actor that wasn’t even Irish. Along with brief information about Guiness history, the presentation included some samples of Guiness Extra Stout, Half and Half presentation (Guiness and Harp Lager), and a description of a true Black and Tan (Half Smithwicks and Half Guiness).<\/p>\n

We felt, as the 2beer guys, that we could have provided this presentation with our eyes closed. We weren’t expecting to learn a lot of information, but I feel that Guiness could have used this audience to test out new ideas or promotions. We did receive some free beer, but as Mom always says, “Nothing is ever really free”.<\/p>\n
