The judges selected the winner from the top  10 beers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Categories for Entries: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The first annual Henry&#8217;s Wine Cellar Home Brew Competition accepted beers from the following categories, as defined in the 2010 BJCP Style Guide.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">1. LIGHT LAGER<br \/>\n2. PILSNER<br \/>\n3. EUROPEAN AMBER LAGER<br \/>\n4. DARK LAGER<br \/>\n5. BOCK<br \/>\n8. ENGLISH PALE ALE<br \/>\n10. AMERICAN ALE<br \/>\n11. ENGLISH BROWN ALE<br \/>\n12. PORTER<br \/>\n13. STOUT<br \/>\n14. INDIA PALE ALE (IPA)<br \/>\n16. BELGIAN AND FRENCH ALE<br \/>\n18. BELGIAN STRONG ALE<\/p>\n<p><strong>As defined at<\/strong> <a onclick=\"javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('\/outgoing\/www.bjcp.org');\"  href=\"http:\/\/www.bjcp.org\">http:\/\/www.bjcp.org<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Judging:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I participated in the first round of the judging (held 2 weeks ago).\u00a0 There were many  delicious home brews entered into the competition (roughly 35 to be exact).\u00a0\u00a0  Unfortunately, I was not able to attend the full session, but I participated in judging for the Belgian and French Ale Category (#16).\u00a0 We had a quick round of 7 beers in this category.\u00a0 The best beer selected from this group was a 16a &#8211; Belgian Wit.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Topsfield Fair home brew competition:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After a long run,  it was sad that the Topsfield Fair Homebrew Competition was canceled for  2010.
