The annual festival attracted roughly 300 breweries and cideries from around the world, with entries judged in a blind-tasting format by 45 professional brewers, media and industry experts.  Narragansett Lager took first place in its category against some of the industry\u2019s top-rated lagers, including Sam Adams Boston Lager and Japan\u2019s Sapporo Lager.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" style=\"margin: 5px;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.2beerguys.com\/images\/forblog\/narragansett_can.jpg\" alt=\"Narragansett Can\" width=\"211\" height=\"192\" align=\"left\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In early October, the Beverage Tasting Institute\u2019s World Beer Championship \u2013 America\u2019s oldest international beer competition \u2013 recognized Narragansett with three impressive medals. Judges awarded \u2018Gansett Lager and Light the bronze medal in the Pale Lager and Reduced Calorie Lager categories with Narragansett Fest taking silver in the Vienna Marzen Lager category.<\/p>\n<p>These recent wins mark another set of major accomplishments for Narragansett Beer, previously awarded the <strong>bronze medal<\/strong> for <strong>\u2018Best Lager\u2019 by the World Beer Cup in 2008<\/strong> and #1 rated premium domestic lager by BeerAdvocate.com.  Further, this year \u2018Gansett celebrates its 120th anniversary as New England\u2019s oldest \u2013 and currently fastest-growing \u2013 beer brand. Having produced and sold its millionth case of beer since its 2005 revival in March, the brand has experienced record growth in sales and revenue across the region.
