{"id":4517,"date":"2011-03-24T09:30:05","date_gmt":"2011-03-24T15:30:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/2beerguys.com\/blog\/?p=4517"},"modified":"2011-03-24T12:59:02","modified_gmt":"2011-03-24T18:59:02","slug":"redhook-cheers-to-30","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/2beerguys.com\/blog\/2011\/03\/24\/redhook-cheers-to-30\/","title":{"rendered":"Event Recap: Cheers to 30 Years night at Redhook (NH)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>@redhooknh, #beer, #30th<\/p>\n<p>Last night, we were invited to attend a celebration for Redhook&#8217;s 30th anniversary at the brewery in New Hampshire.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.2beerguys.com\/images\/forblog\/redhook_new_bottles.jpg\" alt=\"Redhook New Bottles 2011\" width=\"269\" height=\"231\" \/><\/p>\n<p>To kick off their North East celebrations, Redhook hosted a gathering of the minds to showcase the new changes that are coming your way.\u00a0  Here are of the new changes<strong>:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>New Bottles<\/strong>:  Redhook is moving away from the standard long neck bottle to a custom, old fashion bottle (it&#8217;s pretty cool &#8211; see picture above).<\/li>\n<li> <strong>Canning: <\/strong>Redhook has teamed up with Cold Spring Brewery in Minnesota to CAN the Coopperhook for the 2011 summer release.  Founded in 1874, the Cold Spring Brewery isn&#8217;t new to the brewing scene, but is a new partner of Redhook &#8212; expect to see Copperhook in a CAN year round.<\/li>\n<li><strong>New Style Release<\/strong>:\u00a0 Look for the out the new, crisp, refreshing Redhook Pilsner in a store near you!!<\/li>\n<li> <strong>New flashy look<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/li>\n<li> <strong>Something under the cap: <\/strong>Pop the top of the new bottles and you&#8217;ll find a surprise under the cap.<\/li>\n<li> <strong>The Man Cave<\/strong> <strong>at RedhookNH<\/strong>: The upstairs area outside of the brew house is being redesigned to fit a cozy Man Cave.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.2beerguys.com\/images\/2011_redhook30th\/2011_redhook30_cooler.jpg\" alt=\"Redhook Cooler\" width=\"307\" height=\"230\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Although it sounds like an easy concept, these changes required a lot of patience and hard work.\u00a0 For example, the new bottles started with a simple idea (&#8230; I&#8217;m sure there were many different  opinions that had to be brought together),\u00a0 then the bottle had to be made.<\/p>\n<p>After the design concept and bottle manufacturing was completed, they were only at the beginning of the long journey.\u00a0\u00a0 The bottling team is now working out the kinks to ensure that they can effectively insert beer into the new bottle.\u00a0 They will be reminded every week of this change, as they will need to switch the bottling equipment often to keep up products with all of their Craft Brewers Alliance brands.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.2beerguys.com\/images\/2011_redhook30th\/2011_redhook30_andy.jpg\" alt=\"Redhook brewer Andy\" width=\"230\" height=\"307\" \/><\/p>\n<p>During the event, we were invited on a group tour, hosted by brewer Andy Schwartz.\u00a0 He gleefully took us on a backstage tour through the brew house (where they were  mashing and brewing Widmer Heffeweizen &#8212; it smelled awesome!!!), through the bottling line (which has been working 6 to 7 days a week to keep up with demand) and through the land of the giant fermenters.\u00a0\u00a0 The tour was great!!<\/p>\n<p>Here are some of the pictures:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.2beerguys.com\/images\/2011_redhook30th\/2011_redhook30_widmerhef.jpg\" alt=\"Redhook Widmer Hef is a brewing\" width=\"307\" height=\"230\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.2beerguys.com\/images\/2011_redhook30th\/2011_redhook30_sean-ian.jpg\" alt=\"Redhook Sean and Ian\" width=\"230\" height=\"307\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.2beerguys.com\/images\/2011_redhook30th\/2011_redhook30_kristen_amber.jpg\" alt=\"Redhook Kristen and Amber\" width=\"230\" height=\"307\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.2beerguys.com\/images\/2011_redhook30th\/2011_redhook30_mancave.jpg\" alt=\"Redhook Man Cave\" width=\"230\" height=\"307\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.2beerguys.com\/images\/2011_redhook30th\/2011_redhook30_dan_ian.jpg\" alt=\"Redhook Dan and Ian\" width=\"230\" height=\"307\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We send out congratulations to the Redhook Staff for all of the hard work!!<\/p>\n<p>Also, it was nice to see our friends there from the Ale Street News,  Yankee brew News, @SeacoastBevLab, @BeerZenGirl, @Lisa_m_Smith,  @AndoverLiquors (sorry if I missed anyone).<\/p>\n<p><strong>About Redhook<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This year, Redhook hits the big three-oh. Sure, it&#8217;s a milestone, but  don&#8217;t expect him to take up macram\u00e9 or coupon-clipping any time soon.  Or ever. He&#8217;ll still be everywhere you&#8217;d expect to find him: tailgating  for UNH games, tinkering in the garage, or picking up the next round  while you re-rack. He&#8217;ll take one for the team when the situation calls  for it, yet be the first to call you out.  Sometimes, the more things  change, the more things stay the same.
