Courtesy of Stephanie Kerchner at Flying Dog, we’d been sitting on two beers (Wild Dog Horn Dog and Wild Dog Collaborator) and had just received their new Spring seasonal, the Garde Dog, a Biere de Garde style beer just in time as the weather was starting to warm. <\/p>\n

First up was the Garde Dog, which according to the brewery is<\/p>\n
…unfiltered with a hazy, deep golden to light copper appearance…very enjoyable, light-bodied, subtlety sweet beer with toasty malt undertones.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
We say, “Flying Dog’s Garde Dog is a very well balanced beer, perfectly released for the seasonal change in New England with enough of a malt character to ward off the cold, but clean and crisp enough to work on a warm Spring afternoon.”<\/p>\n

Next was the Horn Dog, a Barley wine-style ale that features:<\/p>\n
Big malty flavors, including licorice and chocolate, are balanced with a moderate hop profile.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
We say, “This is one dog that let’s you know who owns the yard.” and whose bark is as big as his bite.<\/p>\n

Last was the Collaborator, which was Flying Dog’s first venture in the world of open source beer.<\/p>\n
Collaborator has a full body with a sweet malt profile and a slight roast character.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
We say, “…it would serve us and provide us with sustenance as well during any type of fast.”<\/p>\n
