1. Where do you live and what are some of your favorite local places to get a beer?<\/strong><\/p>\nI live in Portland, Maine. Typically I go to the Great Lost Bear, $3 Dollar Deweys, Rosie’s, Gritty’s and Sebago.<\/p>\n

What is www.ilovemainebeer.com all about?<\/strong><\/p>\nIts basically my online journal of beer drinking and also random posts about beer and Q & A’s with other beer bloggers, brewers and beer book authors. I just love beer and enjoy posting things of interest to me. I try to focus on beer and beer related things that are accessible to those of us up here in Maine.<\/p>\n
2. What made you decide to start a beer blog?<\/strong><\/p>\nI think it started when I realized others had gotten free beer out of it. I have yet to get any free beer, but in the mean time i’ve become addicted to posting stuff to my blog. I needed an outlet to “talk” about the beer I was drinking more than anything.<\/p>\n
3. Other than blogging, how else are you involved with your love of beer?<\/strong><\/p>\nI write a monthly beer column (starting next month) for The Bollard which is an alternative monthly online and print newspaper here in Portland. I also dabble in homebrewing and drink copious amounts of fine beer.<\/p>\n
4. If you could visit one brewery, that you’ve never been to, which would it be?<\/strong><\/p>\nOne in the US would be Bear Republic in California. One in Europe would be Achouffe.<\/p>\n
5. What comes to mind when you think of Maine?<\/strong><\/p>\nI think of hardworking people that are friendly and don’t know what a car horn is. Mainers are the salt of the earth and are supportive of each other. The State of Maine as a whole is full of intuitive, resourceful people. Its progressive, open minded and altogether a great place to call home.<\/p>\n
