\nThis hearty, mahogany colored ale is brewed to evoke the dark, full-bodied ales that were a favorite of dockworkers and warehousemen (hence the name \u201cPorter\u201d) in 19th century London. It is a good bet that when Dickens\u2019 Mr. Pickwick sat down for a pint, we would have been drinking an ale much like our Robust Porter.This is a smooth and very drinkable beer, characterized by its well-balanced malt and hops, plus subtle notes of coffee and chocolate.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n![\"\"](\"http:\/\/www.2beerguys.com\/images\/forblog\/advent13\/smuttynose-robust-porter-pour.jpg\")

\nKristie<\/strong>: I know this beer is available year-round, but I still had to pick it as my favorite beer to drink in the winter. Bittersweet chocolate, accompanied by a clean roast character lead into some toasty grains and a dry finish. Not only is it a perfect representation of a classic porter, but it\u2019s incredibly easy to drink, making it my go-to on cold winter evenings.<\/p>\n![\"\"](\"http:\/\/www.2beerguys.com\/images\/forblog\/advent13\/twogirlsonebeer-logo.jpg\"){kind=logo}
