Great Rhythm Brewing Co. will be at Gary’s Beverages in Portsmouth for a tasting from 5-7pm on Wednesday, February 27th. Stop in for our tasting and stock up on some Resonation Pale Ale for Portsmouth Beer Week while you’re there.
Oatmeal Pale Ale, brewed with Rik Marley from Flying Goose Brew Pub. This golden-colored pale ale, gets a soft, yet full mouthfeel from oats in the mash, while healthy doses of Simcoe and Zythos hops add a hefty hop pop. This beer tips the scales at a modest 5.5% and will be paired with cheddar and corn fritters.
The first of two Seacoast collaborations was brewed with Annette Lee, co-owner and brewer at Throwback Brewery in Hampton. Holy Molé Porter is a chocolate, molé-spiced porter made exclusively with regionally-grown and malted Valley Malts, cinnamon, cumin and locally-grown jalapeño peppers that were smoked at Throwback (a process we call chipotle-ization). Chef Todd will be serving Molé-braised chicken taquitos alongside this 6.8% beer.
Come by the Press Room for a North Coast Tap Takeover.
Throughout the night, the following beers will be tapped: North Coast Old Rasputin Barrel Aged XV, Scrimshaw and Brother Thelonious.

***
Peak is a craft brewing company, dedicated to making delicious beer using local, artisan and organic ingredients.
With roots in home brewing back in the 90s, brewer Jon Cadoux set about combining his love for beer with an ethic for sustainability. Whenever possible, he would go out and find ingredients from local organic farmers for his homebrews. It was a defining day when Jon discovered that you don’t need to sacrifice flavor for sustainability, but that better ingredients actually made the beer more delicious.

Top Shelf Brews is a retail craft/specialty beer store located in the beautiful seacoast area of Hampton, NH. Please visit our website for more information: http://www.topshelfbrewsstore.com/
-Cirque de Citron was brewed with Tim Adams from Maine’s newest craft beer cool kid, Oxbow Brewing Company. This dark saison was brewed with buddha hand, citron (exotic citrus fruits) and chinese long pepper in the kettle plus lots of Amarillo hops in the hopback. Tyler says this one is a bit more heavy, at 7.9%. Imagine how tasty this will be alongside a a crispy springroll stuffed with Vietnamese-spiced tofu and veggies!
-Last but not least, new-kid-on-the-Seacoast, Great Rhythm Brewing, teamed with Tyler to brew a wheat stout, named Total Eclipse of the Stout. This 6%, black beauty is unusual in its broad use of wheat malt. All the color and body in this beer comes from speciality wheats; which means no speciality barley malts were used in this beer. Hazelnut brittle with chocolate-covered cacao nibs will accompany TEOTS.

NH CHOCOLATE + NH CHEESE + THROWBACK BEER PAIRING – MARCH 3RD
Chocolate plates from last year. So yummy!
My personal favorite event that we held last year was the local chocolate, local cheese, and Throwback beer pairing at our brewery. We had an amazing time stuffing our faces (gracefully, of course) with mouthwatering Winnipesaukee Chocolates and cheeses from local farms, and, of course, meeting new friends as well! Luckily, our customers also told us that they had a great time. As a result, we decided to hold this event again this year – coming up soon on Sunday, March 3rd.
For those of you that attended the event last year, you can expect a similar experience, but with a few different cheeses and beers. For those of you that didn’t attend, here’s the high level of what you can expect:
- Five samples of our beer (including a few fun ones!), paired with
- Good-sized chunks (~1-oz each) of cheese from NH creameries, plus
- Truffles and other chocolate from Winnipesaukee Chocolates, plus
- A mini beer milkshake of my design, that will pair nicely with the chocolate, and
- An in-depth tour of the brewery with Annette Lee – our head brewer.
Interested? Here are the details -
- When: Sunday, March 3rd. Two sessions: 1pm – 2:30pm and 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm.
- Where: Throwback Brewery – 121 Lafayette Road, #3 North Hampton, NH
- Cost: $25 dollars per person – payment due when you show up for your session.
How to join in the fun: Please fill in the contact form.
If this doesn’t work for you for whatever reason, feel free to give us a call at 603-379-2317 to reserve your spot.
