Chocolate Amber

Review - The Matt Brewing Company's Saranac Chocolate Amber

"There comes a time every year in the Adirondacks when a heavier, more malty brew complements the cold winter months. Saranac Chocolate amber showcases a variety of dark roasted malts, producing a beer with a deep, rich, almost chocolaty flavor that’s perfect to celebrate this special time of the year. We hope you enjoy this hearty brew." -- The Matt Brewing Company

Pours a dark brown color into a murky body with a small, fizzy off-white head with fair lacing. Aroma is of light toasted malts with hints of bakers chocolate. Initial taste is lightly sweet, kicking up to a moderate sweet finish with a bitter chocolate taste. Light to medium bodied, it has a slightly oily feel with soft carbonation.
