Review - Berkshire Brewing Company's Shabadoo Black and Tan Ale

A full bodied dark ale which is a blend of our Berkshire Ale and Drayman's Porter. It combines the caramel malt flavor of the pale ale with the chocolate roasted taste of the porter. Shabadoo is a complete and delicious ale. -- Berkshire Brewing Company

The Black and Tan pours a cloudy brown hue settling into a dark amber color. The body was rather clear but some pours had floating particles. The small light brown fizzy head was mostly diminishing and didn't have any lacing. The nose detected a moderate malt presence with hints of Caramel and Chocolate. A faint smell of olives was noted. The moderately bitter initial taste was followed by a light sweet taste for an average duration. It was light to medium in body with a softy carbonation feel on the palate. Alcohol and chocolate were also noted.

Comments during the review: "This definately tastes maltier than it smells." "This tastes like a summer porter, but tastes less like a porter over time."
