Review - JW Dundee's IPA
"Our India Pale Ale is brewed with an aggressive hop profile derived from Amarillo and Simcoe hops. A blend of Crystal malts creates the backbone which supports the hop character without diminishing it." -- JW Dundee's
Pours a light amber color, shifting quickly to a medium amber color with an active body, topped off with a fizzy, small white head with fairly decent lacing. Aroma is of resiny, piney hops, but isn't very balanced given the lack of malt character. Initial taste is tolerable, providing a light sweet malt character, but the taste quickly becomes intolerable as the flavor shifts to a light bitter finish with a very unpleasant taste, reminiscent of Ralphie getting his mouth washed out with soap in A Christmas Story.
