Hanami Ale

Review - Portsmouth Brewery's Hanami Ale

"Delicate flavors Like cherry blossom petals, A new beer is made Malt and fresh cherries Happy flavor of nature, A Smuttynose smile With freshly poured beer Blanket under cherry tree, Spring is happy time." -- Portsmouth Brewery

The Hanami ale pours a medium amber color with a small fizzy reddish head. The body was murky, but there was virtually no lacing. The nose detected a sweet malt presence with light cherry notes. It wasn't too strong and it wasn't overpowering. The initial light bitter taste was followed but a light sour taste for a short duration. Softly carbonated with a light body, the Hanami left an oily presence on the palate. This selection was very smooth and malty. It tasted good, but not too fruity. This beer was reviewed with Amber, Ryan, Ian and Sean.
