Mocha Porter

Review - Rogue Ales' Mocha Porter

"Ruddy brown in color, a bittersweet balance of malt and hops with a light cream finish. Mocha Porter is made from Northwest Harrington and Klages; 135-165, 95-115, and 70-80 Crystal; Beeston Chocolate, Black, Munich and Carastan malts. Perle and Centennial hops." -- Rogue Ales

The Mocha Porter pours a black murky body with a small fizzy head that was fully diminishing a left a good trail on the glass. The nose detected a strong chocolate and coffee presence with a strong alcohol presence. The moderately bitter taste moved into a light bitter taste over time for an average duration. The softly carbonated Mocha Porter was medium in body and left a dry metallic feel on the palate.
