Review - Middle Ages Brewing Company's Wailing Wench Ale
"Dark and robust brewed in the style of a American strong ale, full bodied and screaming with hops." -- Middle Ages Brewing
Pours a dark amber color with an excellent, frothy, off-white head. Fair lacing crowns the almost still body with a head that stands its ground. Aroma is of citrusy hops in the form of pineapple/pear juice notes, accompanied by butter cookie malts. Very enticing nose. Super smooth taste that starts off with a light bitter, switching quickly to a decently sweet finish, yet still dominated by a dry texture. Buttery consistency. Medium-bodied, it carries a creamy texture with soft carbonation. Yet another beer that hides the alcohol content.
