Sierra IPA

Review - Sierra Nevada Brewing Company's India Pale Ale

"Brewed using a blend of English malts. Magnum hops are used for the early hop addition, with Goldings for finishing and dry hopping. A very flavorful and hoppy ale." -- Sierra Nevada Brewing Company

The Sierra IPA pours a cloudy dark yellow color and settles into a golden yellow hue with an active body. The frothy off white head quickly diminished leaving a small presence on the glass. Unfortunately, the soft hop grassy notes weren't as strong as we hoped. The initial taste was faintly sweet and quickly moved into a moderately bitter finish for a short duration. This medium creamy-bodied IPA left a dry feeling on the mouth. We had higher hopes for this IPA. The Sierra Pale Ale has a stronger hop presence.
