Review - Lagunitas Brewing Company's Freak Out
"The 40th anniversary of the landmark album's release." -- Lagunitas Brewing Company
Pours a glowing orange amber hue with a large, frothy white head that doesn't hang around for too long, leaving fair, thick rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma is jam packed with pine hops, but they're not balanced out by any malt character, which is just fine with us. Our palate is assaulted by hop goodness before we're even done with the first sip, initially heavily bitter up front, but that really doesn't change as the taste moves to the back. Light to medium bodied, it has a soft carbonation with a creamy texture.
