Alpha King

Review - Three Floyds Brewing Company's Alpha King

"Big American Pale Ale with citrusy aroma- a hop lover’s cult beer and Three Floyds’ flagship beer Brewed with Cenntennial, Cascade & Warrior Hops." -- Three Floyds Brewing Company

Pours a light amber color but settles out a moderately dark amber color with a decent, chunky, solid one finger head with a faint white color. The body settles out slightly with a haze that looks insanely inviting. First aroma is full of sweet citrusy hops, easily identifiable as the cascade hops. We also get some bitterness notes throughout the finish. First taste is big and bold, with a moderately bitter hit up front that gives way to a light bitter but also slightly sweet finish with a nice long duration. Delicious. Light to medium bodied, it has a creamy texture with a very nice finish. Thanks to Nerissa for this bottle. We've been waiting a while to have a pale ale that stood up to the Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, and this guy certainly de-thrones that as the top pale ale.
