Review - Shipyard Brewing Company's Summer Ale
"(Used to be Sirius Summer Wheat Ale) A traditional America Wheat beer that is less assertive than its Bavarian counterparts. An inviting golden color, mellow malted wheat flavor and less hoppy charicteristics are sure to please those looking a clean, cool taste sensation." -- Shipyard Brewing Company
Pours a pale light yellow color with a fairly active, thin, clear body with a small, fizzy white head that quickly diminishes. Very weak lacing clings to the glass behind the almost vanished head. The nose is filled with doughy yeast and light malts, in addition to a buttery sweetness. The up front taste is lightly bitter, moving to a gentle sweet at the finish with an average duration. Light and thin bodied, it has a watery texture that leaves us with a dry mouthfeel.
