Stone Cat Pumpkin

Review - Mercury Brewing Company's Stone Cat Pumpkin Ale

"A traditional English style porter made with real pumpkin and a touch of spice." -- Mercury Brewing Company

The Stone Cat Pumpkin Ale pours a dark brown/caramel color with a thick, frothy, light brown head. Body is opaque, allowing hardly any light to pass through. Pretty weak lacing, head did not last for very long. Aroma is subtle, with pleasant dark chocolate, molasses and pumpkin notes, also some cookie malts on the side. Initial taste is bittersweet like baking chocolate, moving to a solely bitter finish of moderate strength. Light to medium bodied, the texture is somewhere between dry and chalky with soft carbonation.
