Samurai

Review - Great Divide Brewing Co.'s Samurai Ale

"Looking for something a little different? Brewed with rice and barley malts, Samurai is an easy drinking, unfiltered ale that changes the status quo for unfiltered beers. The addition of rice gives Samurai a slightly fruity, crisp, refreshing and clean taste. This is definitely not your everyday unfiltered beer."

Pours a cloudy light yellow color that clears up quickly, producing a large, fizzy white head with fairly decent retention. Having settled, it's now a very pale yellow hue, with the head leaving behind some very nice sticky lacing. Aroma is very faint with some ground grains likened to the bottom of the Cheerio\'s box. Initial taste is faintly sweet up front, quickly moving to a light bitter finish with some malt behind it. Better than expected taste, given the addition of the rice adjunct. Light bodied, there\'s a clean crisp finish with a dry mouthfeel and some soft carbonation..
