Longshot

Review - Boston Beer Company's Sam Adams Longshot: Weizenbock

"Created by Rodney Kibzey, Illinois Rodney describes his wonderfully complex brew as "deep amber in color with a full creamy body and a dark fruit and clove aroma." This traditional Bavarian style brew took Rodney a few batches to perfect, but the taste is worth all of his hard work." -- Boston Beer Company

Pours a very murky dark brown color creating a large frothy light tan head with decent retention. Body remains murky after it settles out with decent rings of lacing. Aroma is of dominant cloves with some banana behind it, some soft malt aspects, providing a very appealing scent. Initial taste is slightly sour and stays that way through to the finish. Festive carbonation pervades through the medium body with a sour/acidic mouthfeel that turns very dry after a while.
