Review - Belfast Bay Brewing Company's Lobster Ale
"Dark ruby color, moderate head of foam, big fruity nose. Robust fruity palate is packed with apple-pear character, nice malt backbone, barely balancing hops in the finish." -- Belfast Bay Brewing
Pours a murky dark amber color producing a large off-white fizzy head with great retention. Settles out clear with a very still body, although the head does hold up well. Head is very watery though, leaving no lacing behind as we swirl the beer around the glass. Strong aroma of grains with some roasted malts in the background. Initial taste is slightly bitter which continues to through to the finish with some buttery undertones. Medium bodied, there is a buttery/creamy texture with a dry mouthfeel with some soft carbonation.
