Review - Concord Brewery's Rapscallion Blessing
"Our rich orange-colored “Blessing” is Rapscallion’s hop accentuated beer. Don’t be fooled though, this is no IPA. Higher in alcohol and balanced with a spicy, bread-like yeast character, Blessing takes its cues from no style category. To get its distinctive hop character we employed several additions in the boil, some more again in our custom “hop jack” and lastly, we “dry-hopped” this beer in a conditioning tank. We hope that you, like us, consider your choosing this beer a “blessing”." -- Concord Brewery
Blessing pours a medium amber color with a white head. Good lacing over a fully-diminishing head. Complex aroma of light hops, dough noted yeast, and lemon. Initial flavor is light sweet, becoming moderately bitter by the finish. Medicine aftertaste. Mouthfeel is oily and slightly dry.
