Review - The Duck-Rabbit Craft Brewery's Duck-Rabbit Brown Ale
"An American brown ale brewed with loads of hops from start to finish (it’s hoppy and beautifully bitter). Amarillo hops in the boil provide a spicy citrusy bitterness. Saaz dry hops in the fermentor provide a refined flowery aroma. These hops are supported by a grain bill of seven varieties of malt." -- Duck-Rabbit Brewery
This brown ale pours a dark, cloudy amber color and settles a brown to dark brown hue with a hazy body. Average brown head forms, then dissipates and leaves no lacing behind. Aroma is of sweet malts and alcohol, with the particular scent of Crayola crayons. Initial taste is moderately sour, shifting to a moderately bitter finish with a long duration. Lively carbonation and a watery texture leave us feeling unfulfilled.
