Review - John Harvard's Brew House's Oatmeal Stout
No commercial description available.
Dark brown color with mostly lasting, light-brown head. Minimal translucence. Aroma is of faint coffee notes, provided by the burnt malts. Initial taste is sweet, moving quickly to a light bitter finish with a short duration. Beer presence leaves, leaving a chocolate taste. Light on the mouth, it has a watery texture with faint carbonation.
Taste does not hold up to the promise of the appearance and the aroma. Too thin for a stout.
