Review - Magic Hat Brewing Company's Roxy Rolles
"Allow us to introduce Roxy Rolles, She's our beautiful new Seasonale. A delicious bottle of bold for the cold. A free-wheeling spin on the classic American Amber is filled with caramelized malts and spicy hops that fire your inner cylinders." -- Magic Hat
Roxy Rolles rolls out as Magic Hat's Fall Seasonale, and hits the mark. It pours a dark amber color with a large, frothy off-white head. A clear, still body rests beneath a mostly diminishing head with fair lacing. Aroma is intriguing, with hints of flowery, yet citrusy hops, using Brewer's Gold and Simcoe hops. Amber says the aroma is pungent. Initial taste is a very light bitter, with a hint of straw, building to a moderately bitter finish with a long duration. Light carbonation and a light body, combined with a watery feel give this an average palate.
