Review - The Matt Brewing Company's Saranac Hefeweizen
"This traditional style German Wheat beer (pronounced) Hah-fuh-vite-zen) remains unfiltered to preserve it's natural smooth flavor and aroma. Don't be alarmed by its cloudy appearance or noticeable sediment. The slight banana and clove aroma comes from the authentic German Hefeweizen yeast. It has a light refreshing finish." -- The Matt Brewing Company
This hefeweizen pours a light amber color with an off-white head. Fair lacing behind a mostly diminishing head. Aroma, like the Summer Ale, is strictly of lemons. Initial taste is lightly acidic, with nothing of note in the finish. Fizzy carbonation on the mouthfeel.
