Pilsener

Review - The Matt Brewing Company's Saranac Golden Pilsener

"Saranac Pilsener is a light bodied American Wheat Beer that is judiciously hopped with Cascade and Tettnang hops. "Dry-Hopping" imparts the distinctive hop aroma and finish. Look for a smooth, crisp taste and brilliant golden color. Enjoy!" -- The Matt Brewing Company

This pilsner pours a light golden color with a large, white fizzy head. Light lacing trails a mostly diminishing head. Light carbonation in the body. Aroma is of a light fruit smell, and an acidic aroma we would liken to red wine. Initial taste is smooth with a heavy dose of carbonation, finishing with a light bitter aftertaste. Oily on the mouthfeel, this is a very light beer, befitting a summer 12-pack.
