Review - Mercury Brewing's Ipswich Harvest Ale
"Highly regarded among hop-lovers, our Harvest Ale is a balanced and flavorful autumnal offering, to be enjoyed during the cool, crisp days of fall." -- Mercury Brewing
The Harvest Ale is a pretty enjoyable offering from the Ipswich Ale line. It pours a medium amber color with an average, frothy off-white head. Head is mostly diminishing and good lacing remains on the glass. Murky body. Aroma is of light malts, and there are hints of fruit. Initial taste is lightly sweet, moving to a moderate to heavy sweet finish with a burnt taste. Average duration. Dry on the mouth with flat carbonation and a chalky finish.
Reviewer's notes: "Walking through the woods with brown leaves all around and a cool nip in the air, jumping into leaf piles. - Ian. A good transitional beer from summer to fall."
