Review - Redhook Brewery's Late Harvest Autumn Ale
"The newest seasonal Redhook Ale will appear just as the days of Fall get shorter and shorter. An East Coast only brew, the Late Harvest Autumn Ale features a roasted, toasted malt aroma and the distinct flavors of the Northern Brewer and Saaz hops. Its rich complexity comes courtesy of its specialty malts: Crystal, German Smoked Munich, Caramel, and Roasted." -- Redhook Brewery
Late Harvest, Redhooks fall beer, pours a deep copper color, reminiscent of wet, fallen leaves, topped off by a light-brown, fizzy head. Virtually no lacing, and light carbonation in the body. Aroma is of bread malts and yeast. Initial taste is lightly bitter, sliding down into a slightly acidic finish that doesn't last long on the mouth. Watery on the palate, we're left dry with a flat body.
Reviewer's notes: "Mild, good session beer"
