Review - New Belgium Brewing Company - Frambozen Raspberry Brown Ale
"The brown ale base, complex in itself , with the addition of raspberries both as a seasoning and a further fermentation, produces a beer with exceptional depth of flavor. Use of authentic fruit leads to a ripe seductiveness all the more alluring as the delicate notes are not overpowered. Available Thanksgiving through the holiday season." -- New Belgium Brewing Company
Pours a medium reddish brown color with a frothy, mostly lasting off-white head. Good lacing. Aroma is of sweet malts with undertones of sour raspberries. Initial taste is lightly sweet, moving to a chocolate sweet finish. Light to medium bodied, it has an oily texture with soft carbonation. Taste is of chocolate-covered raspberries.
