Review - Magic Hat Brewing Company's Odd Notion (Spring 08)
"An Irish style red ale brewed with cardamom." -- Magic Hat Brewing Company
Pours a dark brown color with some red hues with a large, fizzy light brown head with a very carbonated body. After settling, the body is a beautiful clear garnet red with a falling head and some thin lacing. Aroma is fairly subdued with a slight bit of maltiness and a bit of soapiness and perhaps a hint of spice like nutmeg. The first taste is a bit watery with some slight sweetness, building to a dry, bitter finish with a good bit of creaminess. Light bodied, there's a fairly creamy mouthfeel despite the thin looking appearance, along with some gentle carbonation.
