Review - Nashoba Winery's Bolt 117
"Our premium lager, is golden in color and hopped with a Tettnang & Hallertauer hop aroma; starts clean, ends with a mild bitter finish" --Nashoba Winery
Pours a light golden sparkling color producing a beautiful white fizzy head with very good retention. Settles out a clean, slightly carbonated body with decent lacing. Aroma is clean with some citrusy apple and a slightly sour tinge. Initial taste is lightly bitter, but builds quickly to a more assertive bitterness accompanied by some sour notes. The sour tails off a bit, leaving behind the bitterness which gives us a fairly dry mouthfeel with long duration. The sourness in the initial flavor reminded us of a hefeweizen. Surprisingly assertive for a lager, we get a nice dose of aroma and bitterness that make it a satisfying beer..
