Review - Lagunitas Brewing Co.'s Undercover Investigation Shut-Down Ale
"12th Anniversary Ale. We brewed this especially Bitter Ale in remembrance of the 2005 St. Patrick's Day Massacre and in celebration of our 20 day suspension back in January of this year." -- Lagunitas Brewing
Pours a medium amber color with a large, frothy, off-white head with excellent retention. Body has great clarity with superb lacing clinging to the glass. Aroma is very well balanced with equal hits of soft grassy bittering hop, some caramel malts with some brown sugar backbone and a gentle but present alcohol. First taste is sweet and malty but quickly moves to a bitter dry citrus hoppy finish with long retention. Light to medium bodied, it has at first a watery texture but quickly becomes creamy and oily with a slight sweet alcohol finish.
