Review - High & Mighty Brewing Company's XPA
"XPA (Extra Pale Ale) is an American classic. A hoppy session ale...relatively light and low in alcohol but packed with flavor. Old World English malts are paired with new American hop varieties, resulting in a superbly drinkable yet complex brew, ideal for evenings out at the pub or when entertaining at home. This beer has it all – enough hops to satisfy the most serious hophead, but enough malt to achieve a perfect balance. This American Pale Ale is unfiltered and unpasteurized." -- High & Mighty Brewing
Pours a light golden hue with high clarity, topped with a bright white small fizzy head that producing a thin ring of lacing around the glass. The head has almost completely dissipated, but is hanging on by a thread. Aroma is moderately malty with some caramel notes, sweet with some brown sugar, and soft fruit from some green apple citrus. Initial taste is sweet with some sublte maltiness, without very much distinct flavor, and the finish is a bit bitter with perhaps some sourness. Light to medium bodied, the consistency is watery with live carbonation. Strong sweet caramel on the mouth with sour/bitter texture and a tasty hop presence.
