Review - Abita Brewing Company's Restoration Pale Ale
"Restoration Pale Ale is made with Pale, Lager, Crystal and Cara Pils malted barley. It is liberally hopped and dry hopped with American Cascade and fermented with California Ale yeast. The end result is a brilliant gold ale with a rich body, mild bitterness and a snappy fresh citrus hop flavor and aroma." -- Abita Brewing Company
Pours a light, cloudy yellow color with a small, fizzy white head, settling with excellent clarity as the head almost completely diminishes. Fairly active carbonation. Thin, fizzy lacing on the glass. Aroma is of fresh baked light bread with some doughy yeast of moderate strength, and citrus lemon hints. Initial taste is slightly bitter, then quicky becomes doughy at the finish with a short duration. Soft carbonation on the palate with a malty but watery texture providing a thin body. Clean and crisp taste that\'s balanced.
Very drinkable, it doesn\'t have any standard qualities but sure to please on a warm day.
