Review - Harpoon Brewery's Glacier Harvest Ale 08
"Harpoon brewer Ray Dobens, creator of the beer, added a heroic dose of fresh hops the day of the harvest. The result is a copper-colored ale with a pleasing blend of fresh hop flavor and sweet malt." -- Harpoon Brewery
Pours a very pale yellow color producing an nice looking, white fizzy head with good retention. Body has settled a deeper yellow hue with brilliant clarity and very still carbonation. Aroma is typical of a wet-hopped beer with a subdued hop aromas but there is a marshy hop presence, and also some doughy yeast. Initial taste is slightly bitter with some subtle hop notes, finishing even less bitter gliding on to a moderate duration. Body is watery and thin with soft carbonation. Malty and doughy with a soft bitter finish, leaving the mouth wet.
We expected a stronger hop presence but the hops were barely detectable in either aroma or taste. It was just ok...
