Review - Abita Brewing Company's Fall Fest

"Abita Fallfest is an Octoberfest lager/ It is brewed with German Hersbrucker hops and pale, crystal and chocolate malts. The result is a full-bodied, malty beer with a strong hop character and a beautiful amber color." -- Abita Beer Company

Pours a medium yellow color with a healthy one finger head with decent retention after the initial pour. Clarity is high with a very still body. Head has mostly diminished and leaves behind a thin, wispy trail. The aroma is faint but dominated by malts. Reminded me more of light bread. The hop presence was undetectable. Initial taste is lightly sweet with some faint bread malts in the background, and moves toward a slightly bitter finish with a nice little bite. Lightly carbonated, the Fall fest is thin and slightly watery. The mouth is covered by a slight oily film that disappears over time.

The Fall Fest has a smooth taste and is pleasant to drink.
