Review - River Horse Tripel Horse
"Notice a unique aromatic nose with a hint of vanilla esters, which comes from the Belgian ale yeast. Tripel Horse has a big body and rich mouth feel and finishes mostly dry with only a touch of sweetness. If you shy from some of the sweeter Belgian ales, we think you will enjoy this one. The palate improves with age, so keep some on hand and you can ride Tripel Horse down a new path with each opened bottle." -- River Horse Brewery
This was our favorite beer of the variety pack. From start to finish, this ale has a significant flowery presence. The pour is a dark yellow color with clear body. The Tripel Horse produces a fantastic large white head that, unfortunately, doesn't stick around long enough to enjoy it. Aroma is a heavy flower scent, and we picked up cloves and ginger as well. Initial taste gives a heavy sweet, finishing with a light bitter taste that quickly goes away. Mouthfeel is medium and oily with fizzy carbonation.
