Review - Rock Bottom Brewery - San Diego's Coronada Nut Brown Ale
In search for the Stone Brewery, after gallivanting through the amazing Petco Park (home of the San Diego Padres), we stumbled upon the Rock Bottom Brewery. We were quite pleased with the location and atmosphere; but as you will see in the 8 reviews, the beer could not stand up to a bud light.
The appearance was quite impressive. Great lacing and amazing light brown head that was fully diminishing. The Coronado had a light brown/dark amber murky body. The nose didn't detect anything special other than a light malty aroma. Initially light bitter moving into a moderately bitter taste for an average duration. Light to medium body with soft carbonation and a watery texture on the palate. One of the highest scoring beers, it wasn't great --- it was all right. Tastier than the red, but needed more body and flavor.
At the end of the 8 beer sampler, there wasn't a single beer that Sean wanted to drink a pint of. It was quite depressing
