Review - Rock Bottom Brewery - San Diego's Hefeweizen
In search for the Stone Brewery, after gallivanting through the amazing Petco Park (home of the San Diego Padres), we stumbled upon the Rock Bottom Brewery. We were quite pleased with the location and atmosphere; but as you will see in the 8 reviews, the beer could not stand up to a bud light.
The appearance was quite impressive. Great lacing and amazing off while head that was fully diminishing. With a hazy yellow body, the Hefeweizen contained a citrus aroma with hints of lemon. You could definitely smells the lemons, just like a lemonade. The moderately sweet taste and moderately sweet finish lasted for a short duration on the palate. The light and watery body was accompanied by lively carbonation. This was the highest scorer in the group. The pleasant and sweet was a nice surprise, but it was overall incomplete.
At the end of the 8 beer sampler, there wasn't a single beer that Sean wanted to drink a pint of. It was quite depressing
