Review - Sierra Nevada's Porter
"A delicious, dark-colored, medium-bodied ale made with roasted malted barley. It has a creamy head and a very rich, yet smooth, malty flavor. " --Sierra Nevada
Compared to the Sea Dog Porter, this one didn't fall as flat, but certainly is not representative of the style. It pours a light black color with a murky consistency, topped off by a small, fizzy light brown head. The head fully diminishes, and leaves no lacing behind. Aroma is of moderately roasted, dark chocolate malts. Initial taste is lightly bitter, sweetening to a moderate sweet finish with a short duration. Light to medium on the body, the texture is dry with lively carbonation.
Reviewer's notes: Incomplete for a porter - Sean. Like a chocolate phillys blunt - Brad. I like the floral one better - Nicole.
