Scottish Ale

Review - Smuttynose Brewing Company's Scottish Style Ale

"Dark brown in color. Candy sugar in used when brewing this beer. Available in September." -- Smuttynose Brewing Co.

This Scoth Ale was tested out of Smuttynose's "Big Beer" bottle. It pours a medium brown color with a large light brown head. Good residue on the glass. Body is cloudy and muddy. There was a significant amount of sediment in this bottle. Not an overpowering scent by any means, it smells of light flowery hops. Initial taste is both lightly sweet and bitter, finishing lightly bitter. Palate is left feeling creamy with light to medium body. Finishes smooth. GWW says "It's good."
