Review - Southhampton Publick House's Secret Ale
"Our special secret Alt beer, a copper-brown colored north German ale with a malty flavor and a refreshing hop bitterness. Brewed with 5 varieties of German malt and imported German hops. As of 2/06, the majority of Secret Ale appears to be brewed at the Olde Saratoga brewery in upstate NY." -- Southampton Publick House
The secret's out! This beer is not all that impressive. Pours a medium amber color, settling a dark amber color with a fully diminishing, fizzy off-white head. Aroma is of malts, with notes of molasses. Initial taste is sweet, quickly turning to a moderate bitter. Light on the palate, its watery with an oily finish and soft carbonation.
