Review - Stone Brewing Company's Oaked Arrogant Bastard
"Arrogant Bastard Aged with oak chips." -- Stone Brewing Co.
300. Onward and upward. The Oaked Arrogant Bastard pours a medium amber color with a frothy, light-brown head. Mostly lasting, sticky head with good lacing. Aroma is much less pronounced than the original AB, with notes of pine needles and a musty scent. Initial taste is balanced at the front with a light bitter/faint sweet, remaining a light bitter through the finish with a taste of grapefruit. Light to medium in the mouth, it has active carbonation and a creamy texture. The oak chips don't expose themselves in the aroma or taste, and with no predominant scent, we were grasping to describe the aroma.
