Review - The Tap Brewery's Whittier White
"Cloudy because of the raw wheat used and yeast in suspension. This beer is light, refreshing, and a little bit tart, spiced with coriander, curacao, orange peel, and a top secret brewing spice. This is our rendition of a Belgian witte perfect on a hot summer day or with a bowl of mussels." -- The Tap Brewery
The Whittier White pours a very cloudy, pale yellow color with a large, white, frothy head. Good lacing. It shines with its aroma, which is filled with banana and clove notes, and a sharp hint of lemon. Initial taste is heavy sweet, simmering down to a moderately sweet finish with a short duration. Hints of lemon in the finish, the flavor seems to evaporate. Light to medium bodied, it has a watery to creamy texture with lively carbonation.
Yet another solid entry from The Tap, the Whitter White does a couple of things very well, with both its clearly defined aroma and its sweet yet clean finish. Amber was reminded of the smell associated with perms with the chemical presence.
